We draw inspiration from nature. We are in our elements dealing with photography, publications, television, film and stage. The web site presents the activity of Jaroslaw Chyra who in the circle of his experienced and wonderful friends realizes projects based on three steps: get to know nature, take to it, and feel the respect for it as well as the need of protection. Here are the projects which enable you to get to know nature and maybe you will grow fond of it and if so... . All in Your hands! Come in!
THE LOST BEAUTY - ed STUDENT ASSOCIATION OF NATURE AND DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY - UNIVERSITY OF LIFE SCIENCES (SGGW)
In 1997 group of eccentric students decided to set an artistic and scientific association. I do not remember exactly who was on the first general meeting of founders, but many young men from that group still operates on the photographic field, like Michal Jelinski, Robert Drozdz or Wojtek Sobocinski. There were dozen people or so in a small academic room. Among them there was the dean of Forest Department, prof Boleslaw Porter who, to our surprise accepted our invitation. It was so crowded inside that dean's overcoat had to rest on the nail in the wall. The meeting took place with full procedures and honours and our heads were full of great dreams. After that, in the room (which still served as a typical room of a students hostel called Hilton) we wrote applications, requests and projects. Founded by us Student Association of Nature and Documentary Photography organized open airs, exhibitions , presentations and meeting with famous photographers. On one of the exhibitions, which was opened solemnly by the contemporary Minister of Environment Jan Szyszko, Mark Czapor (one of the students) said 'why don't we publish a picture album from these photos?". That photo-amateurs group supported by an energetic doctor Taida the Tarabula got down to realization of that cosmic project. But who would bother the difficulty. Soon the model was finished. Our rector, prof Tomasz Borecki was delighted with pictures and the project speeded up. In 1999 the picture album of eighteen students from University of Life Sciences (SGGW) was finished and published. Then, the next photo albums were published. The following fragment is prof Tomasz Borecki's introduction, without whom those publishing would not come into being.
"I am very pleased that among students of my university, University of Life Sciences, which is so close to all problems of natural environment, there are more and more sensitive people. They can not only perceive the beauty but also they can record it using present techniques and pass it to be admired by other people. Sensibility to the beauty of nature is the best guarantee that man in its acting will regard its goodness and will hand down his next generations."
